CITY showed no signs of a Hampden hangover as they swept aside Irn-Bru Third Division visitors Berwick Rangers 4-0.
The Black and Whites, handed a 6-0 drubbing by Queen's Park last week, were seldom under threat from the Borderers at Borough Briggs.
Manager Ross Jack resisted the temptation to ring the changes in defence, with Brian Cameron and Paul Millar returning to the line-up at the expense of Graeme Beveridge and top scorer Craig Gunn.
Towering striker Millar grabbed a double to repay his boss' faith, with Archie MacPhee and Stuart Leslie also netting as City closed the gap on fourth placed Annan Athletic to six points with two games in hand.

CITY'S abysmal away Irn-Bru Third Division record this season continued as they slumped to a 6-0 drubbing at the hands of Queen's Park at Hampden Park.
The Black and Whites, now with only one win from nine away outings, saw their hopes of staying in touch with the top four crushed as Spiders' striker Jamie Longworth bagged four second half goals.
It's a crushing blow to City's aspirations of establishing themselves as serious play-off contenders.

Ross Jack has signed Mark Durnan on loan from St. Johnstone until the end of the season. This makes him City's second signing of the January transfer window.
The 6' 1" central defender who was previously with Clyde, has had a loan spells with Stranraer and Arbroath in recent seasons. Jack said that he was really pleased to land Durnan who will provide much needed strength to his squad. |

CITY got back to winning ways in the Irn-Bru Third Division with a 3-1 victory over East Stirlingshire at Borough Briggs.
The 500-plus crowd was entertained to goals from Stuart Leslie, Archie MacPhee and Jason Crooks as the Black and Whites secured all three points for the first time since early November.
Manager Ross Jack made two changes to his side after the 3-0 defeat at Peterhead, with John Calder coming in for suspended keeper Zander Clark and new signing Paul McMullan replacing Ross O'Donoghue.
Elgin enjoyed the lion's share of the play, particularily in a first half they controlled, but failed to capitalise fully on the many chances created.
